What is TikTok Creator Marketplace?

It’s exactly what it sounds like – a marketplace where brands can go to connect and work with TikTok creators for their influencer marketing campaigns.

This literally means brands can go there and browse creators available for collaborations and partnerships to find the right ones for their goals.

You can browse creators by:

  • Region
  • Topic
  • Reach
  • Average views
  • Audience region, age, and gender
  • And more.

This makes it easy for marketers to find partnership opportunities that fit their brand goals to a T – and for creators to be discovered by the right brands, boosting their TikTok earning potential.

The TikTok Creator Marketplace also includes a campaign management dashboard and reporting tools to make influencer marketing campaigns more effective. So it’s like a comprehensive tool for brand partnerships, from searching for the right one to reporting on the campaign results.

How does TikTok Creator Marketplace work?

Depending on your role in the process, here’s what it looks like to use the Creator Marketplace, both brand and creator side.

When you’re a brand

On the marketplace, you get access to approved TikTok creators who have at least 100k followers and are eligible for brand partnerships. Here’s what the process looks like.

  1. Search for creators. TikTok will let you browse all the creators available on the marketplace based on your specific criteria, like content topics, audience demographics or certain perfomance metrics.

This way, you can find relevant creators for your influencer marketing campaigns and add them to a list of preferred creators to work with.

TikTok will also suggest similar creators based on your criteria.

  1. Create a campaign. Fill out the campaign details and select the creators from your list that you want to work with for your campaign.
  1. Invite to collaborate. You can invite a creator straight through the platform or generate an invite link. Don’t forget to let them know all the details that they need to know to evaluate your proposal. If the creator accepts, you’re ready to start collaborating.
  1. Monitor results. When you start working with a creator and link their content to your campaign, you’ll be able to monitor the results the content’s getting within the campaign, including the number of views, reach, engagement rate, video completion rate and more. Results are updated daily.

Based on that, you can of course work with the creator to improve the results or continue with new content.

When you’re a creator

Here’s what the other side of the brand partnership using TikTok Creator Marketplace looks like:

  1. Scan the QR code below with your phone. It’ll take you to the TikTok app, where you can check your eligibility. If you’re eligible, apply, then wait for TikTok to approve your application.

If you’re not eligible, keep growing your audience unless you reach the required 100k.

  1. Go to TikTok Studio in your TikTok account. Select Creator Marketplace, then tap Monetization. Tap profile and fill out the details, including setting a starting rate for sponsored videos. You can renegotiate the rate with advertisers for individual campaigns.
  2. Wait for invitations from brands to roll in. TikTok will notify you when a brand reaches out with an invitation.
  3. When you agree on the rates and all the campaign details, time to create your branded content and send it to the brand to approve it.
  4. Don’t forget to disclose your Branded content video using the Content disclosure setting and link your video to your Creator Marketplace campaign, so that the brand can monitor its performance.
  5. When you upload your video, it will first be reviewed to see if it complies with TikTok’s Community Guidelines and branded content policy.
  6. The brand will approve or reject the video. If it gets rejected, you can redo it according to the comments and upload again.
  7. Once the video gets approved and published, wait for the payment to be processed as agreed.

How to join TikTok Creator Marketplace

First of all, there are some requirements you need to meet, whether you’re a creator or a brand. Here’s what they are:

When you’re a brand

Brands can join via TikTok Ads Manager or directly through the Creator Marketplace website.

Any brand can join – you just need to provide basic business information, including your business name, email address, and phone number. You’ll get a link in an email to verify your account – and you’re done. Or, should I say, you can finally get started. 😉

When you’re a creator

You’ll first need to apply to the creator marketplace, and then TikTok will review your application and notify you about the result.

If you don’t get approved into the marketplace on your first try, you can apply again after 30 days.

Now, to get approved, you need to:

  • Have at least 100k followers
  • Have posted at least 3 videos in the last 28 days
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Have received at least 100k likes on your videos in the last 28 days

Benefits of TikTok Creator Marketplace

In general, TikTok Creator Marketplace was designed as a tool that makes influencer campaigns and brand-creator partnerships on TikTok easier to initiate and manage. Here’s why it’s worth checking it out, whether you’re a brand or a creator.

When you’re a brand

  • You have access to a pool of verified TikTok creators that you can browse based on your selected criteria. This makes finding the right influencers for your campaigns much easier.
  • You can easily find creators from all over the world or from your specific location.
  • You can see the creator’s audience and content performance with data coming directly from TikTok, so you’re not just relying on what a creator tells you at the start of your collaboration.
  • You get tools to monitor the campaign and see the results easily, plus the approval process is streamlined on the platform, too.
  • You can increase brand awareness on the platform and promote your products or services among engaged audiences with the help of successful creators and their content creation skills.

When you’re a creator

  • Once you’ve built an engaged audience of 100k or more, you have more ways to monetize your content and get exposed to brands who might be just looking for someone like you.
  • You have a greater chance of matching with a brand based on specific goals and criteria that you and your audience meet.
  • The whole process of collaborating can happen on the Marketplace and it’s really easy. Plus, brands reach out to you (if you’re a fit), so you save yourself some time actively looking for brand deals.
