Broetry

Broetry refers to a style of writing that uses catchy headlines, witty one-liners, and humor to engage with the audience on social media platforms such as LinkedIn. “Broems” often follow a similar formula that starts with a click-bait hook and follows with short paragraphs or sentences divided with line breaks.

Broems usually contain lots of jargon, emotional references, personal experiences, and universal truths that are supposed to inspire readers. As successful as broetry may be, it has received criticism for promoting the hustle culture.

The term itself is a play on words, combining “bro” (a slang term for a male friend) and “poetry” (a literary style characterized by a heightened emotional response). It gained popularity on LinkedIn as a way for male professionals to create engaging and relatable content that resonates with their target audience.

Broetry can take many forms, such as personal stories, career advice, or industry insights, but it always has a conversational tone and a touch of humor. It is a way for professionals to showcase their personality, expertise, and personal brand.
