If your social profiles cater to a multinational audience, you’ve definitely received comments and private messages in languages that you don’t understand. Provided that you work at a big company, you probably distribute these messages among moderators who speak a given language. But what if you don’t have a team of dedicated multilingual agents? Well, this is when NapoleonCat’s translations come to the rescue.
The new feature may also come in handy for brands who have the potential to scale their business but, at the same time, they struggle to provide foreign clients with sufficient customer support.
We’re happy to announce that Pro and Enterprise plan users can now take advantage of our new feature – translations available both for incoming communications and moderator replies. Since the translations are available without any additional fees, you can scale your business but not necessarily your budget.
The translations work with all the languages supported in Google Translate, which is over 100!
Let’s take a look at the tool and see how translations work.
Incoming communications
For all the incoming communications in our Social Inbox, you can detect the language and translate it into any (available) language, most probably – your native language.
You will see the “Translate” button at the bottom of each incoming message. In the vast majority of cases, the original message language will be automatically detected, but you can also indicate the language of the message yourself.
In the next box, you can choose the language that you want to translate to. Click on the box to unfold the list and choose a language.
Once you indicate your preferred language, NapoleonCat will remember it and the language will be automatically set for other translations (but if you wish to, you can select a different language at any time of your convenience.)
Finally, click on the “Translate” button to see the translated message.
The ready translation will be visible directly below the original text.
If necessary, you can repeat the translation process and translate the message into a different language too. Just select another language from the list and click “Translate”.
You’ll see another translation right below the original text.
Moderator replies
Once you understand what the message is about, you may want to answer. And you’d probably want to answer in the language of the person you’re addressing. No worries, we’ve got your back.
To reply to a message, simply click on it. You’ll see a new window where you can type the message in your native language.
If you previously translated the incoming message, both the language you write in and the one you want to translate to will be set automatically. If for any reason the languages don’t match your preferences, just indicate the right languages by selecting them from the lists. Finally, click “Translate” and you’ll see your translated reply.
You can reply immediately with the ready-made answer or, if you wish to, you can edit the translated text.
Once your answer is ready, just click on the yellow “Comment” button to comment back, or on the white “Comment and archive” button to comment back and archive the conversation.
For private messages, you’ll see a “Send reply” and “Send reply and archive” buttons.
Translations work with all kinds of incoming communications from all platforms available in Social Inbox: Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Instagram Ads, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google My Business.
