Simp
“Simp” is a slang term that originally referred to someone who goes to great lengths to impress or win over someone they’re attracted to, often to an excessive extent. However, its meaning has evolved and it’s now used in a broader context.
Imagine someone is constantly doing favors for someone they’re interested in, even at the expense of their own well-being. You might say they’re “simping” for that person.
“Simp” can also be used to playfully tease someone who is being overly devoted or submissive in a situation. If a friend is doing everything another friend asks, you could say, “Stop simping!”
This term is often used humorously, but it can also be used to criticize someone for not standing up for themselves or being too subservient.
“Simp” is a way of pointing out when someone is acting overly infatuated or submissive. So, when you hear or use “simp,” you’re talking about someone who is putting a lot of effort into impressing others, often to an extreme degree.
